CHILDREN DEVELOPMENT THROUGH MUSIC WORKSHOPS
Music is a resource and a means of communication and learning with an immense capacity for transformation, used by people since ancient times. And nowadays music continues to be used in the most diverse ways to support and facilitate learning, development, emotional and somatic rehabilitation in working with adults and children, with people considered normal as well as with those presenting various pathologies or disturbances of a psycho-somatic nature .
Within Talent Reserve we offer a wide variety of music and movement development activities, making good use of the principles of the Dalcroze Active Music Pedagogy methodology as well as other approaches – to deliver workshops where we aim to both develop skills in the participating children and and general well-being.
Concept
The use of music as a resource for the development of certain skills, the training of certain behaviors, where the associated complementary effects are a good emotional state (calmness, balance, joy).
Activities
Listening-concentration-movement games, organized in space according to musical instructions, use of musical instruments by participants and instructor, objects (balls, sports hoops, ribbons, etc.)
Benefits and skills developed in the workshops:
- Development of sustained attention / focus
- Cooperation, attention to others and to the environment
- Emotional and behavioral self-control
- Development of motor coordination (rhythm, body expressiveness, development of fine motor mobility)
- Direct interaction with sounds, the creation of spontaneous musical materials through the use of various musical instruments by children
- Developing creativity, imagination and courage through improvisational activities using instruments, voice, movement, objects and body percussion
- Acquiring elements of basic musical culture (classical music, Romanian music, music for children, music of other peoples)
- Emotional well-being – which is always a mandatory by-product of musical pursuits
- Development through play, including elements of general culture conveyed through musical activities)
The level of difficulty and the activities are adjusted according to the age and the specific objectives pursued
Number of participants: 6-20 children
Duration: 45-60 minutes (depending on age)
